Writing is my passion and Life Sciences are my profession. Add them both, and you have me! I am focused, goal-oriented, hard-working with strong convictions. Honest with high ethical and moral values. My passion for writing however, is not restricted to only academia, but also include fashion, events, food, movies and anything aesthetic!

Also working as News Curator & Columnist for the following portals :- KRA include • Compiling information on various conditions (covering neurodegenerative, respiratory, cardiovascular, immunogenic, diabetic, genetic, musculoskeletal disorders and different types of cancers) via extensive internet research and regular updates on advancements on the same. These are summarised and curated in a patient-friendly format, so as to create awareness as well as provide an insight to the causes and available therapeutic options for those conditions, to whom they might concern. • Studying company profiles for pipeline drugs for rare (‘orphan’) conditions and NIH homepages on progress of clinical development programmes on the same, to put together information on that particular drug in the form of ‘Landing Pages’ for the benefit of researchers, patients and healthcare professionals alike. • Write on the latest happenings in terms of therapeutic research and likewise in the capacity of a ‘science columnist’, another internet research based activity.

Submitted my dissertation, based on my laboratory exposure & assignment, as a part of my courseware, on “Identifcation of potential virulence genes in various Klebsiella isolates”, targeting specific genes of the organism which have been suggested to contribute to virulence in past research, amplifying them by PCR after subculturing them, and checking their presence and significance in different samples collected from different sites in patients, from the Manchester Royal Infirmary. (Samples included both clinical and screening isolates.)

Worked as an intern at Bose Institute Kolkata, Department of Molecular Medicine, under Prof. Gaurisankar Sa, for my Bachelor’s Degree Dissertation on “Effect of Curcumin on T-cell mediated adaptive immune dysfunctions in Tumor bearing hosts”, involving injecting mice with tumor cells and treating them subsequently with curcumin after 7 days, and monitoring the anti-tumor effects of curcumin, by analyzing the cytokines released from cells isolated from the liver, spleen and peripheral bloodstream of these mice, by FACS (Fluorescence Assisted Cell Sorting).

Worked as an intern at The University of Calcutta, Department of Biophysics, under Prof. Abhay Sankar Chakrabarti, on the “Effects of Fructation on Myoglobin”, incubating myoglobin with fructose for a time period of 30 days, checking its effects on a day dependent basis using UV Spectrophotometry and Gel Electrophoresis, causing iron release and the formation of advanced glycation end-products (AGE) which affect free radical mechanisms and contribute to oxidative stress in Diabetes and related complications (As seen in earlier studies on Glucose-induced modifications of Hemoglobin.)
