A Biomedical Sciences masters graduate looking to kickstart my career in clinical trials. My favorite topic in university was Drug Research, where I discovered my ethusiasm of preclinical and clinical trials and the process of putting a potentially life-saving compound on the market. I have completed my final year thesis in the field of colorectal cancer, doing my 6 month research at Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Beerse, where I picked up many valuable lab and record keeping skills, as well as being able to communicate with scientists and managers from diverse backgrounds.
I am multi-lingual, pick up new things very quickly and am keen to start and grow as a part of a large company involved in scientific research.
Student Researcher Beerse, Belgium
November 2014 --- May 2015
Topic: Establishing a Colorectal Cancer Cell Line Panel that Represents the Main Molecular Subtypes of Primary Colorectal Cancer
A six month internship involves working in the laboratory of the Oncology Department in R&D while also writing a final year thesis as part of a Master’s Degree in the topic mentioned above. Skills gained: cell culture, proliferation assays, DNA and RNA extraction and preparation for sequencing, microarray, analysis and organization of results, detailed log keeping and write-up of protocols. Working closely with the oncology and colorectal cancer team gave me great insight into the organization and environment of a large pharmaceutical company.
