Collaboration with Medical Physics doctors for the development of human computational models based on CT scans. Couplings of such models in Monte Carlo codes for numerical estimation of the dose delivered in Orthovoltage radiotherapy treatments. In this internship, together with the thesis work, the following skills have been gained: ▪ Image manipulation for development of unstructured mesh models and voxel models. ▪ Script programming with MATLAB ▪ Deeper understanding of Monte Carlo codes, in particular MCNP6. ▪ Deeper understanding of electron-photons coupled transport and the physics of energy deposition. ▪ experience with radio protection concepts, and risks associated with radiation. ▪ Team working and presentation skills in a group of people with very diverse educational backgrounds.
