After the Bachelor in Agro-environmental biotechnology at the University of Milan, where I focused my studies on agronomy and environmental biotechnology, I attended a Master program in Cellular and molecular biotechnology at Wageningen University. There, I drew attention to microbiology and environmental technologies because I'm interested in all those processes that support the transition to a biobased economy, especially the reuse and recovery of compounds (such as nutrient removal and heavy metal precipitation from wastewaters) and the production of energy or materials from plant feedstocks and microalgae.
