I am a Bachelor in Biochemistry and recent Master graduate in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
During my academic course, I gained an extensive theoretical and practical background in Life Sciences and Chemistry. Besides, I had the opportunity to work at different research laboratories, which along with my comfort at the laboratory, highlights my versatility and ability to adapt to different work environments.
My fascination for the Nanotechnology field lead me to work on the development of a proliposomal system to encapsulate a synthetic xanthonic compound, with a promising antitumor activity, in my master dissertation project at the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto. This system attempts to overcome the stability problems associated to liposomes. During this project, I synthetized the compound at the Laboratory of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the Faculty and stablished a proliposomal formulation, for the first time at the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology. Also, I could contact with important techniques for the characterization of nanosystems. Beyond the scientific skills, through this experience, I gained initiative, critical spirit, and problem solving skills due to the innovating character of the research work of my dissertation.
I am now looking for a job opportunity to expand my knowledge!
