As a Freelance Consultant I have various data analysis projects both commercial and academic, (statistical and biological) involving 2nd phase clinical trials for Greek institutes, analysing data and providing them with guidance, and I am involved in various on-going academic collaborations at the same time. I utilised a large array of web based bioinformatics and network tools, Cytoscape, STRING, Galaxy, GO databases etc. to provide my informed opinion. I was also involved in Tissue Microarray (TMA) data analysis and took part in the creation of an ongoing large database/ in-house management workflow system.

I was involved in the new and exciting area of microarrays, performing the research and development for the genpakArray21 microarraying robot, optimising the working parameters, testing and adapting protocols and helping in the making of the user guide and manual for it. This experience gave me a sound practical and theoretical knowledge of the microarraying field, which I later put in excellent use in my MPhil and PhD research. These 12 months provided me with an excellent training in general laboratory tasks and equipment according to GLP. The company won the Sussex Business Awards 2000 in the Innovation Award category for the most effective innovative product, for the work done in the making and production of the genpakArray21 microarraying robot.
