    spin off Ghent University; 70 employees; €7 mio per year Primoris supports companies and organizations in the food industry with high-quality residue analysis of pesticides and mycotoxins in food and feed. Due to context changes the laboratory needed to rethink its value proposition. I took the lead in transforming the company’s operations from process to product oriented. Reduction of turnaround time, production flexibility and managing costs were key challenges in order to meet business requirements. Responsibilities: CAPEX, OPEX, negotiations, labor organization, people development, kaizen workshops, functional analysis for software developments: LIMS, start-up laboratories: Columbia & Bulgaria Member of the management team, leading 50 colleagues.

    Production and commercialization of Draeckenier and Hopdraeck, two self-brewed beers of high fermentation. Beers were marketed in Begium and exported to US. Sold in 2013.

    Manage the department’s day-to-day operations. Less technical than my previous position, social and commercial aspects gained in importance. Recruit and train new people, optimization of work-flow, promote continuous improvement. In this position I was in charge of 25 people.

    November 2004 --- January 2009
    During a two-year start-up period, I learned the core activities of the lab, afterwards I became R&D responsible of the GC department. Business needs in the form of analytical methods were developed, validated and added to the company’s portfolio. I was back-up head of department, between 2006-2009, and had a leading role in the team that developed LIMS software. This position summarized: problem solver, flexibility and leadership. During that period I discovered that ‘working with’ people provided me with a lot of energy: working towards a mutual goal, overcomming difficulties and learning togehter.
