During my career, I have build up expertise in protein production and purification, more specifically enzymes, recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies. I have designed industrial processes optimizing the fermentation, purification and final buffer formulation for proteins and antibodies applied in in vitro diagnostics. Currently, as the Head of Biomanufacturing in a SME active in the in vitro diagnostic sector, I am also responsible for implementing  and improving the quality assurance system.

Apart from protein production and fermentation, I am also experienced in protein engineering and biocatalysis. I have engineered enzymes during my PhD to alter the substrate specificity and the stability. I have also developed industrial biocatalytic processes in the starch industry starting at the lab scale and scaling the process to final industrial scale.

I am interested in jobs in the (bio)pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnological sector especially in biomanufacturing and biocatalysis. I am looking for jobs either in production or process development.

    During my PhD program I have worked on the expression, characterization and engineering of sucrose phosphorylase aiming increased stability and altered substrate specificity. Besides my PhD research, I have also experience in bench scale simultaneous saccharification and fermentation of poplar. As PhD in Applied Biological Sciences and bioengineer, I am talented in implementing new knowledge and problem solving. During my PhD, I have developed good communication and project management skills and I am experienced in supervising and coaching students and lab technicians. I am very experienced in molecular biology, protein expression and purification, protein engineering, enzyme kinetics, bioinformatics and analysis (TLC, HPLC, HPAEC, …).
