Retired Executive Editor at Pictures of the Future Magazine Munich, Germany
Since September 2009
I retired in Septemebr 2017 after 32 years as a technology writer and executive editor with Siemens at its headquarters location in Munich. During my final 15+ years with the company, my job was to identify and propose key subject areas for Siemens' worldwide external magazine, and ensure the development of groups of articles that illustrated Siemens' role in these areas. Subjects ranged from collective intelligence and machine vision to the latest trends in simulation, manufacturing, and advanced medical imaging technologies. I researched and wrote about ten percent of the articles myself and saw them through an extremely stringent approval process. I was also responsible for the editorial quality of the entire English edition, which -- until it went completely digital -- was typically 116 pages in length and appeared twice per year.
