Pharmacy and Professional Practice Advice Providing practice-based and informed advice on a regular basis to PGEU colleagues and members, professional colleagues and project partners. Lobbying and Advocacy Regular participation and contribution to discussions, debates, meetings, round-tables, expert advisory panels, interviews, focus groups and consultations promoting the role of community pharmacists. Project Management & Public Health Initiatives PGEU management and participation in the following EC funded projects / Joint Actions: - The EU eHealth Governance Initiative (eHGI) - The EU Network for Patient Safety and Quality of Care (PaSQ) - The Joint Action on Health Workforce Planning and Forecasting (JA EU HWF) - European Innovation Partnership on Active and Health Ageing, Action Group A1, Adherence (EIP AHA) - EU Joint Action on Chronic Diseases and Promoting Healthy Ageing Across the Life-cycle (CHRODIS) - Cancer Control Joint Action (CANCON) Coordination of the following public health initiatives: - The ECDC EU Antibiotics Awareness Day - PGEU - EuroPharm Forum - WHO Europe study & report on antimicrobial resistance - PGEU - EAACI Allergy Awareness Campaign Communication - Delivery of presentations to large EU and international audiences, both technical and policy orientated. - Chair of the PGEU Professional Issues Working Group. Stakeholder Relations Regular interaction with: - PGEU member associations - The European Commission - MEPs - The EMA - The ECDC - PGEU "Sister Organisations"(the EU associations for doctors, dentists, nurses, midwives etc) - EuroPharm Forum - WHO Europe - FIP European and International Affairs - Liaising with PGEU / European member associations providing professional support for EU and national initiatives - Participation in FIP events and activities Policy and EU Legislation Exposure to, and experience working on EU legislation impacting on health systems, pharmaceuticals and pharmacy practice.
