Summary

I believe that new technologies and techniques are major enablers of scientific discovery by providing researchers with “tools” that create new possibilities. I see my role as helping the subset of researchers in the life sciences who are open to new ideas and tools. I do this by working in partnership with companies that develop scientist’s tools and helping to bring those tools to the attention of researchers. My experience is mainly in molecular biology and protein purification. However, in recent years I’ve expanded my areas of interest into on-site molecular diagnostics (yes, just like CSI), DNA sample collection and neuroscience. I’ve got 15+ years experience in the biotech tools industry in sales, marketing, product management, technical support and as company director and entrepreneur. In 2008 I established my own business, You Do Bio, representing companies with great research and diagnostic tools. You Do Bio currently partners with the following companies: Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) EMP Biotech Isohelix Optigene BrainBits Amplex Biosystems Molecular Devices You Do Bio has also partnered with these companies in the past: Agilent Technologies (Genomics Division) Macrogen BioCision TATAA Biocenter Horizon Discovery (via Curogenix) Realizing that technology developments move fast I have also recently developed a smartphone app (iOS and Android), LabWish, that gives researchers an overview of new research tools and applicatoins in the life science field. LabWish enables small companies with limited marketing resources to reach their target audience.
