Kris has more than 20 years experience in healthcare, diagnostics, medical devices, personalised nutrition and life sciences market. The past years, he got triggered by deploying the recently emerged IT approaches such as big data, data mining, cloud computing and agile IT architecture. He started his career as a scientific contributor at Boehringer Mannheim. Later, he held several positions in business development and executive management at Roche Diagnostics. He was Chief Operations Officer of the Gulf region in 2003 and 2004 for the entire Roche Diagnostics portfolio, based in Dubai. He was member of the European management team at Roche (Rotkreuz), for molecular diagnostics, applied science and tissue diagnostics. He was involved in the pioneering launch of next generation sequencing in Europe. Early 2012, he started his own biotech consultancy firm, MindCapture, advising different biotech companies, bridging science to business development. From early 2012 until end of 2015, he held the position of COO (Chief Operations Officer) at Biogazelle. In this role he was responsible for the wet lab operations (next generation sequencing, qPCR, digital PCR and array technology) and the bio-informatics lab. He was driver for the business development, HR strategy and worked closely with the CEO on the overall company strategy ( In September 2013 he co-founded Vision4Care, a new biotech-IT service and distribution company, dedicated to offer talented staffing, instrumental in introducing new technologies to the EU market. As his daughter was diagnosed with celiak disease, he co-founded a new company, SmartWithFood, to develop a digital platform, enabling informed decision making for people with specific food preferences. This personalised nutrition platform was recently integrated in the co-founding group, to be deployed in the food retail setting. New projects in mass customisation are in view, operating from the holding Vision4Care.
