I specialize in data processing and medical imaging. Having a background and experience in machine learning, in the design of devices, statistical analysis, computer-aided design (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), I’m capable to work as part of the team or independently to yield high quality output.

Master Thesis: For magnetic resonance imaging, no protocol independent intensity standard, like the Hounsfield units in computed tomography, is available due to magnetic scanner dependent parameters. The inter–image intensity variations are related with changes between images that are acquired on different scanners and/or at different time–points on the same scanner. Hence, intensities obtained from the same or different patients have no meaning related to a specific anatomical tissue even if they are acquired on the same scanner. Solving the inter–scan intensity variation problem is referred as intensity standardization. Scope of the thesis is to deal with the intensity standardization problem, check the accuracy and efficiency of standardization methods in MRA images and simulated images and extensively present the results of their application.

Physical-technical quality control of X-Ray devices can be classified in several types of quality control. The most common type is the one were a certified medical physicist does an extensive test using high-end measuring devices and expensive phantoms. Also due to needed time to perform the test and the unavailability of the X-Ray room during that test, this can be considered as a necessary but expensive intervention. Recently a new phantom (CELT, Glan Clwyd Hospitals, Denbighshire UK ) has been developed to test the constancy of CT devices. This allows for an extensive testing of these devices keeping the simplicity of a typical constancy check. However manual evaluation of this phantom data, is time consuming and can be subjective, resulting in a less reliable outcome. Aim of this project is the developing of a validated and automated method to analyse the images of the proposed phantom in an objective and reproducible way.
