I am working as a post-doctoral assistant in the department of Molecular Biotechnology of the faculty of Bioscience Engineering of Ghent University. In addition to research on plant lectins and their link with stress signaling and plant defense, I am teaching the course 'Cell Biology' and a part of the course 'Biochemical analysis techniques'. Further, I am teaching as a guest professor the course 'automation in clinical labs' to the students of Biomedical Laboratorium Technology of the Erasmus University College (Erasmushogeschool Brussel). Previously I have been working as a post-doctoral researcher in Life Sciences at Ghent University (Dept. Molecular Biomedical Research, UGent-VIB). With a focus on the engineering of the secretion pathway of yeast and the production of (pharmaceutical) proteins (often in collaboration with industry). And as a doctoral researcher in the Plant Systems Biology department of Ghent University (UGhent-VIB) where I studied the link between the Cell cycle and DNA damage.
