After graduating as a master in Biotechnology in 2002, I worked for 12 years as a researcher at the Laboratory of Veterinary Immunology (Ghent University), where I obtained a PhD on DNA vaccination in 2007. During this period, I obtained as trong background in immunology and a lot of research experience in immunology and molecular biology (including in ELISA, ELISPOT, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, monoclonal antibody development, cell culture work…) and experience in assay design, analysing, interpreting and presenting data, coordination of research projects, training of students and lab technicians and writing scientific documents.
Since May 2015, I’m working as a Scientific Support Specialist at BD Biosciences. In this position, I give scientific advise to customers regarding their flow cytometry experiments and help them with their assay design and troubleshooting. In addition, I'm also giving customer training for cellsorting with the BD FACSAria and the BD FACSAriaFusion.
