I love to work interdisciplinary: I am a well-balanced mix of biophysicist, biochemist and bio-engineer. Next to my biotech knowledge, I gathered a good understanding in the fields of Food science, Food safety, Process development, Optics, nanotechnology and some basics of rheology & flow dynamics.
As a team player I enjoy, while working with others, to accomplish goals like helping to organise summer schools, conferences and meetings. I have a understanding in business and IP/legal working relevant for R&D fellow/Scientist. I have lead multiple teams and projects and love to be part of one too!
My new challenge should be an industrial position were I can use my scientific know-how to help my company grow. Interests are food technology and research, biomedical R&D and innovative technology development.

In the global R&D team of Mars Food I provide the scientific and technical support to allow the company to grow, improve and be more efficient in multiple food technologies.
As a Process Development Scientist I am part of the Global Process development Team and part of the Applied Science & Process Development Platform. I have a close collaboration with all my national and international collaborators and technicians of the R&D team (BE, NL, UK, USA) but also with the site implementation team, engineering and other plant platforms.

I love to work interdisciplinary and have a broad background in biochemistry, biophysics, nanotech and microscopy. I have a strong background in many biotech related subjects.
International mobility: 2 months post-doctoral academic guest at the laboratory of Soft Materials at ETH Z Hönggerberg.

1) Construction of magnetic tweezer for active microrheology of biopolymers.
2) Study of dendrimerized chemical self-synthetised polymers using state-of-the-art microscopy in collaboration with prof. Schlüter.
3) Course material for prof. Isa Soft Materials II about super-resolution microscopy & nanoscopy (teaching).
My academic carreer allowed me to work independent and in group, I learned to organise and plan meeting and conferences, write reports, presentation and teaching, initial managment by helping/guiding thesisstudents and PhD students. I actively sought out international collaborators making me a flexibel teamplayer.
I had contact with multiple companies like Nikon, Olympus, Ecover, ICOS, P&G ... were in some way I worked together and did small projects for or with them. These initial contacts showed me how interesting industry can be!
