1) Life Sciences
Life sciences is the study of living organisms. These can be plants, microorganisms or plants, but we mostly refer to human beings. More specifically we usually mean medicine and development of cures. In this case, we are talking about pharmaceutical industry, biotech or medical device industry. More and more often we also incorporate MedTech companies. In other words, the most widely used understanding of life sciences industry is that it improves the quality of life.

2) Biotech
Biotechnology can be defined as the controlled and deliberate manipulation of biological systems (whether living cells or cell components) for the efficient manufacture or processing of useful products. The fact that living organisms have evolved such an enormous spectrum of biological capabilities means that by choosing appropriate organisms it is possible to obtain a wide variety of substances, many of which are useful to man as food, fuel, and medicines.

3) Pharma
Pharma is the branch of biology concerned with the study of drug action, where a drug can be broadly defined as any man-made, natural, or endogenous (from within body) molecule which exerts a biochemical or physiological effect on the cell, tissue, organ, or organism.

4) Research
Research comprises “creative and systematic work undertaken to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of humans, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications. It is used to establish or confirm facts, reaffirm the results of previous work, solve new or existing problems, support theorems, or develop new theories.

5) Medical Device

6) Medical Technology (medtech)
Medical technology, or medtech, encompasses a wide range of healthcare products and is used to treat diseases or medical conditions affecting humans. Such technologies (applications of medical science) are intended to improve the quality of healthcare delivered through earlier diagnosis, less invasive treatment options and reductions in hospital stays and rehabilitation times. Recent advances in medical technology have also focused on cost reduction. Medical technology may broadly include medical devices, information technology, biotech, and healthcare services.

7) Drug Development
Drug development is a major part of the pharmaceutical industry. It is the process of bringing new drugs to the market. It follows the phase of drug discovery. Once a lead compound has been identified and the process goes into pre-clinical research. After this step, but still, within drug development, you have the clinical phase.

8) Project Manager
First of all project managers need to inspire and provide vision to the project team members. With their passion, they create a more productive working atmosphere. They also need to determine the strategy, goals, and metrics from the project. And on top of that, the project manager helps to define the responsibilities and tasks of the other team members. They also resolve personal and cross-functional conflicts to better the functioning of the team.
